3/03/23 – Friday Horse Racing Tips

We have expert betting tips for the cards this Friday at Newcastle and Pakenham.

There is plenty of value available with bookmakers at the Friday meetings and we have our best bets across the two cards.

Newcastle

Race 2. (13:45) Bella Group Paul Perry 2YO (1300m)

#1 – Tom Kitten @ $4.20

Tom Kitten comes off a win at Warwick Farm and we expect that form to stack up nicely.

The James Cummings-trained two-year-old won by a half-length, which followed a fourth on debut at Flemington.

He jumps from a tricky but he has class.

Race 3. (14:20) N.Z Bloodstock Provincial Maiden (1600m)

#8 – Higher Hand @ $2.60

Higher Hand comes off consecutive placings and he could cap off that form with a win.

The Nathan Doyle stable has been going well this season and we think it’s only a matter of time before he wins.

The son of Dundeel demands attention and the odds are fair.

Race 4. (14:55) Kloster Motor Group Maiden (1200m)

#9 – Pereille @ $2.30

Pereille has been backed and beaten in all five career starts, but he hasn’t been disgraced with five placings.

The Cummings-trained colt didn’t enjoy the heavy surface when running second behind Cool Jakey last start, so he could bounce back.

Having Tim Clark is ideal and punters should expect him to be sent forward.

Race 7. (16:50) Horsepower Newcastle Stakes (1400m)

#3 – Cross Talk @ $2.25

Cross Talk wasn’t far behind the winner fresh up when second, so that was a nice fresh effort.

The former New Zealander owns five wins and five placings from 11 starts, so he is always around the mark.

Getting in with 54.5kg makes him tough to beat.

Pakenham

Race 1. (18:15) 9Mile Fresh Maiden (1000m)

#8 – Explosive Rosie @ $2.60

Explosive Rosie had good betting support on debut when running third at Pakenham.

The betting support has come again and she didn’t have all favours on that occasion, so we’re not surprised.

Barrier five is ideal and she has massive upside.

Race 3. (19:15) Sportsbet Bet with Mates BM64 (1200m)

#5 – Mr Tickles @ $3.50

Mr Tickles won on debut at Echuca by 1.3 lengths and his form since has been solid enough.

The three-year-old son of Magnus comes off a fourth at Sandown behind some smart types, so that form checks out.

Getting the inside draw could be enough to see him return to form.

Race 4. (19:45) Battery Zone BM70 (1600m)

#1 – Tick Tock Lady @ $1.95

Tick Tock Lady is unbeaten after two starts and the four-year-old mare comes off a half-length win at The Valley.

The four-year-old daughter of San Padre looks set to rise through the grades and we’re not surprised by the weight of money coming for her.

Watch late betting markets for any late interest.

Race 7. (21:15) Reach Gymnastics Maiden (1400m)

#11 – Ninnita @ $3.30

Ninnita ran second on debut at Moe by 1.3 lengths and that was a tidy debut effort.

The three-year-old filly by Vancouver paid $3.80 on that occasion and she is shorter with bookmakers this time around.

She only needs a good ride from a tricky barrier to go close.
