Flemington horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:35) Furphy Trophy (1000m)

#10 – Illative @ $2.40

Illative has been heavily backed on debut after winning four jumpouts.

The two-year-old filly by I Am Invincible has been met with good betting support at $2.40 and that’s an excellent sign.

Having Jamie Kah in the saddle with 55kg on her back is ideal.

Race 2. (13:10) Lexus Melb Cup Tour Tender (2500m)

#4 – So Unusual @ $2.50

Money is with So Unusual, who has rattled off three consecutive wins, and he could continue his winning streak.

The four-year-old son of Unusual Suspect scored by a half-length at Sandown and carrying 54kg is ideal.

Getting the inside draw ensures an easy passage and everything points towards a win.

Race 3. (13:45) Carm Trophy (1000m)

#3 – On the Lead @ $4.20

On the Lead won well at Sandown two back with a big burst of speed before placing behind Star Patrol last time out.

That form has been franked at Group 1 level and the five-time winner should be able to bounce back against this level of opposition.

Getting the inside draw down the straight can be an advantage at times.

Race 4. (14:20) VRC Life Member J Ford Sprint (1000m)

#5 – Winnertakesitall @ $8

Value is with Winnertakesitall, who won fresh up last preparation at The Valley and she could repeat the dose.

The Snowden-trained three-year-old won by a half-length over Bistro before winning again at Caulfield last time out.

That form rates well and the odds are too good to pass up.

Race 5. (15:00) The Schweppes Plate (1600m)

#4 – Munhamek @ $4.40

Munhamek is getting close to posting a win after some consistent efforts and we’re happy to include him.

The seven-year-old should appreciate rising in distance to the mile, where he owns a win and three placings from seven attempts.

Carrying 60kg is easy but he has the class to win.

Race 6. (15:40) Inglis Sprint (1200m)

#6 – Paris Dior @ $9

Punters might have lost confidence with Paris Dior following her most recent campaign, but she is classy at best.

The three-year-old filly by Pierro ran fourth at Flemington last time out and having experience down the straight helps.

Her best form in Sydney takes her close.

Race 8. (17:00) Tab Blamey Stakes (1600m)

#4 – Gentleman Roy @ $2.90

Gentleman Roy was first past the most in the Group 1 C.F. Orr Stakes last start but lost on protest.

The six-year-old gelding is a classy type and we thought he would be around $1.80 against this field, so we’re putting him on top.

Group 1 form stacks up well and he’s a four-time winner over the distance and three-time winner at the track.

Race 9. (17:40) Resimax Group BM90 (1200m)

#7 – D’jumbuck @ $3.30

We liked the way D’jumbuck hit the line to win at Flemington last start and he’s shooting for three straight here.

The five-year-old is only a five-time winner but he’s in excellent form this season, and his best form comes on good tracks.

Carrying 55.5kg is ideal and the odds are worth taking.
