Oxford Mail: Emergency Thames Water works in Botley Road, OxfordA spokesman for Thames Water said: “We are sorry to residents and businesses impacted by the repair works on the Botley Road junction of Helen Road and Alexandra Road.

“Our repair team has repaired the leak and will be reinstating the road as well as removing the barriers by Monday, February 19.

“No customers in the immediate area have reported low pressure or no water issues.”

It comes as Botley Road has been closed at the railway bridge due to ongoing works to improve the train station.

This separate work is being carried out by Network Rail and is due to be finished in October.

Work on the station and railway upgrade had to be paused in June after contractors unearthed an inverted brick arch, thought to be part of the original Victorian drainage system.
