British-Norwegian blues guitarist coming to Oxford on European tour

Krissy Matthews is releasing a double album, “Krissy Matthews and Friends”, on May 10 and is touring Europe this spring.

He will be performing at The Bullingdon in Oxford on June 6.

The UK leg of his tour will see him performing with Polish artist Slawek Semeniuk on bass and Belgian Gerry Reynders on drums.

The album features a wealth of musicians from modern blues and rock.

Mr Matthews said: “It was a long time in the making and I managed to get it done.

“I wanted to get all my favourite musicians together that I have met on the road in my career.

“I did not want this album to have a box, so there are many different genres.

“But in the end, it is a Krissy Matthews record.”

Featuring 24 songs, the album runs for almost three hours and includes a mix of original material and Mr Matthews’ favourite cover songs.

The first single, ‘Queen’, will be out on March 29 and will be followed by the release of ‘Why Are You Ashamed of Me?’, a song aimed at the Norwegian government who denied his passport despite his Norwegian heritage.

He said: “It is unfair and I am very angry at the Norwegian system.”
