Cricket sessions to invite more children to play the sport

Aron Lee, founder of Alchem Trading, based in Carterton, has teamed up with his friend Nathan Harris to launch an All Stars Cricket programme in Oxfordshire for five to eight year-olds.

All Star Cricket sessions are run across the country and are designed to introduce children to the sport.

Mr Lee’s passion for the sport was cultivated at Purton Cricket Club, in Wiltshire, where he was involved for nearly 20 years.

He took a break from the game when his son, Henry, was born before relocating to Minster Lovell Cricket Club, where his father-in-law serves as chairman, in 2019.

He said: “It’s not just about cricket; it’s about creating lasting memories and instilling a lifelong passion for physical activity.

“I’m thrilled to embark on this journey with All Stars Cricket, where every child has the opportunity to shine.”

Alongside Mr Harris, he hopes to nurture the next generation of cricket enthusiasts while prioritising fun and physical activity.

He added: “It’s our job to give these kids their first introduction to cricket, but it’s all about just keeping moving and having fun.

“As long as the kids are having a good time, that’s all that matters.”

The sessions will begin on May 10 at Minster Lovell Cricket Club, and run every Friday until June 28 between 6pm and 7pm.
