Former COSTAATT President Dr Gillian Paul has died | Loop Trinidad & Tobago

Dr Gillian Paul, who served as the President of the College of Science, Technology and the Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT) for a decade, has passed away.

COSTAATT shared news of her passing today, but didn’t share any additional details.

The college recalled that Dr Paul played a transformative role in its development since its inception.

She served as Chair of the Academic Affairs Team during COSTAATT’s formation, Chief Executive Officer from 2002-2004, and most recently, President from 2012 -2022.

“Her leadership in academic affairs spanned over decades, marked by a dedication to curriculum development and student success. Dr. Paul was a champion for quality initiatives and tirelessly pursued advancements across the College.

Beyond COSTAATT, Dr Paul’s impact extended nationally and regionally. She served on numerous committees dedicated to educational development. Her expertise and passion were highly respected by colleagues throughout the region,” a statement from COSTAATT read.

The statement added: “Dr Paul’s legacy lives on in the strong foundation she helped build for COSTAATT and in the countless students she empowered. We will deeply miss her leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to education.”

The college extended condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues.
