Former Ole Miss basketball player arrested after shooting

OXFORD, Miss. (WMC) – Recent Ole Miss basketball star Jamarion Sharp was arrested Friday in Oxford.

Police were called to the area of Price Hill Park just after 5 p.m. where a shooting was reported.

Police detained several persons of interest at the scene.

After investigating, Oxford police say a vehicle was being repossessed when a man, Sharp, fired a gun.

No one was injured in the shooting, but the 22-year-old was taken into custody.

Sharp is charged with aggravated assault and was given a $100,000 bond.

Sharp was a senior for the 2023-24 Rebels, coming to Oxford after transferring from Western Kentucky.
