Leigh played the full 90 minutes as the Reggae Boyz beat the Dominican Republic 1-0, courtesy of Shamar Nicholson’s goal just after the quarter of an hour mark.

Oxford United left back Leigh again played the full 90 minutes, as Jamaica survived a late fightback from Dominica.

Nicholson and Kaheim Dixon gave Jamaica a 2-0 lead at half-time, with Nicholson extending the advantage from the penalty spot with 11 minutes to go.

However, Javid George and Troy Jules then netted for Dominica, to set up a tense finale.

The Reggae Boyz are then in Copa America action later this summer, taking on Mexico, Ecuador and Venezuela in the group stages.

Elsewhere, Fin Stevens earned his second Wales cap in their 4-0 friendly defeat against Slovakia.

The right back played the full game as pressure mounts on Wales boss Rob Page, following the goalless draw against Gibraltar, the game in which Stevens made his senior international debut.

Ciaron Brown was an unused substitute as Northern Ireland lost 5-1 to Spain in a friendly.

Sunderland centre back Dan Ballard handed Northern Ireland a shock lead after two minutes, but a Pedri brace, plus strikes from Alvaro Morata and Fabian Ruiz put Spain 4-1 up at half-time. Mikel Oyarzabal completed the scoring after an hour had been played.
