High school roundup: Oxford Hills rolls past Bangor in boys basketball

PARIS — A team effort helped Oxford Hills dominate Bangor 63-40 in a Class AA North boys basketball game Thursday night.

Brayden Murch scored a game-high 11 points for the Vikings (11-7), which had nine different players score a basket. Jake Carson (10 points), Cameron Pulkkinen (10) and Holden Shaw (nine) each matched Murch with four made shots.

Ryan Ford led the Rams (1-17) with 10 points.

WINTHROP 64, TELSTAR/GOULD 51: Cole Bard delivered a game-high 22 points to help the Ramblers (11-7) pull away from the Rebels (6-12) for an MVC win in Bethel.

Brayden Branagan 12 of his 16 points from behind the 3-point line for Winthrop, and Chan Ring scored all 10 of his from inside of it. Colton Baird and Carter Rivers added eight points apiece.

Brody Morgan paced Telstar/Gould with 18 points, Wyatt Lilly tallied nine and Reiley Hedden and Filip Nesic each notched seven.

ST. DOMINIC 68, PINE TREE ACADEMY 36: Logan Carey and Kai Taylor led a spread-out scoring attack as the Saints (17-1) closed out the regular season with a home win over the Breakers (2-12) in Auburn.

Carey and Taylor dropped in 13 points apiece, Campbell Perryman contributed 12 and Jonathan Tangilamesu tallied 11. St. Dom’s had nine different players score a basket.

Silas Yeaton led Pine Tree with 12 points and Samuel Bautista scored 11.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 61, LISBON 42: Lucas Harmon and Jacob Harmon scored 14 points apiece to pace the Mustangs (15-3) past the Greyhounds (1-17) in an MVC game in Monmouth.

Lucas Harmon also pulled down 12 rebounds for a double-double and Jacob Harmon had nine boards of his own. Aiden Oliveira compiled 11 points and eight rebounds and Kyle Palleschi poured in 10 points for Monmouth, which was playing without leading scorer Sammy Calder.

Owen Booker led all scorers with 18 points for Lisbon, and DeSean Trufant tallied 10.

MT. ABRAM 86, HALL-DALE 50: The Roadrunners (16-2) featured five double-digit scorers in their resounding win over the Bulldogs (10-8) to end the regular season in Salem Township.

Payton Mitchell led the way with 20 points, Bryce Wilcox was next with 17, Cam Grey compiled 13, Logan Dube 12 and Killian Pillsbury 10.

Zach Brown scored a team-high 14 points for Hall-Dale and Ben Nathan added 12.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 89, BOOTHBAY 45: The Phoenix (12-6) made an astounding 23 shots from behind the 3-point line in a senior night win against the Seahawks (5-13) in Jay.

Senior Griffin Achorn tallied a double-double by grabbing 11 rebounds to go along with his 15 points, all on five 3s. Ian York made six 3s and finished with a team-high 20 points. Jace Bessey (12 points) and Austin Armandi each made three 3-pointers, while six other Spruce Mountain shooters each made one.

Finn Harkins scored a game-high 22 points for Boothbay, with Luke Morley pitching in with 13.

YORK 75, POLAND 44: Hayden Forbes had 19 points and 12 rebounds to power the Wildcats (15-3) past the Knights (3-15) at York.

Derek Parsons added 14 points.

Damon Martin led Poland with 23 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 62, KENNEBUNK 27: Izzy Morelli poured in 18 points and Ali Portas added 17 as the Patriots (15-3) overpowered the Rams (1-17) in Gray.

Cenzie Cunningham and Skylar Holder led Kennebunk with six points apiece.

BOYS HOCKEY
LEAVITT/GRAY-NG/OAK HILL/POLAND 11, GREELY 3: Will Keach had three goals and a pair of assists to lead Leavitt/Gray-NG/Oak Hill/Poland (11-3) to a win over Greely (10-4) at Family Ice Center in Falmouth.

Brody Emond also recorded a hat trick, Conner Boulay added two goals and two assists, and Hunter Bussiere, Breck Langevin and Nick LeBrasseur also scored.

Colten Miedema, Charlie Moore and Sean Allen each had a goal for Greely.

KENNEBUNK/WELLS 9, MT. ARARAT/LISBON/MORSE/HYDE 6: Benjamin Urban had a hat trick and had an assist in the Rams’ (4-8) win over the Eagles (0-13-1) at The Colisee in Lewiston.

Weston Church finished with two goals and two assists for Kennebunk/Wells. Wilson Clough had a goal and an assist while Willard Kull, Drew Highbarger and Dan Finch had a goal each.

Jacob Fullerton led the Mt. Ararat co-op with two goals while Caleb MacDonald had a goal and two assists. Oscar Nelson had a goal and an assist while Brennan Fitzpatrick and Griff Ridlon found the back of the net.

Richard Pocius had 25 saves in the win and Kai Stockford stopped 24 shots in the loss.

GIRLS HOCKEY
BRUNSWICK 6, LEWISTON/OAK HILL 1: Lisi Palmer contributed two goals in the third-seeded Dragons’ (10-9) win over the sixth-seeded Blue Devils (10-9) at Sid Watson Arena in Brunswick.

Lauren Labbe chipped in with a goal and assist.

Gillian Countway, Emily Wallace and Lilly Calderwood also had goals.

Fiona Landry found the back of the cage for Lewiston/Oak Hill.

Hensleigh Labonte made eight eaves for the victory and Tatum Hunt had 21 saves in the loss.
