Super Bowl LVIII has come and gone and the Kansas City Chiefs are once again Super Bowl champions.

For them, now is a time for celebration before gearing up to do the impossible — win three Super Bowls in a row — which they are the betting favorites in the Super Bowl odds

For the other 31 teams, and its players, now is a time to think about what’s next and how to get better. Some will build through the draft, some will make trades or go the free-agent route, while some will stand pat and do nothing. One player whose phone I would be ringing off the hook is free agent Mike Evans.

Join me as I break down the NFL odds for Mike Evans’ next team below.

Mike Evan’s situation at a glance

Mike Evans has been everything the Tampa Bay Buccaneers wanted him to be and more when they drafted him seventh overall in the 2014 NFL Draft.

He’s eclipsed the 1,000 receiving-yard mark in all 10 seasons and has hauled in a total of 99 touchdown passes.

He’s the franchise all-time leader in 13 categories including most receiving yards in a season, most receiving touchdowns by a rookie in a season and most receiving touchdowns in a career.

So why did the Buccaneers not offer him an extension prior to this past season?

Evans signed a five-year, $82.5 million contract extension with the Buccaneers with $55 million guaranteed back in 2018. He put a hard deadline of September 9 to receive a contract offer from the Bucs but none came.

Could the soon-to-be 31-year-old be too expensive given how young the league is getting year after year?

Mike Evan’s next team favorite

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-165)

While the betting odds suggest Mike Evans will in fact be back in Tampa to begin the 2024-25 NFL season, I’m not sure the Super Bowl-winning wide receiver feels the same way. He’s done just about everything he can do for the franchise and for them to not even put forth a preliminary offer on an extension, that’s bad business.

Given the way the Bucs performed over their heads this year, resulting in a Wild Card loss, I believe Evans knows his best shot at winning one more is elsewhere.

Chicago Bears (+650)

Stop me if you’ve heard this before: The Chicago Bears are looking for a No. 1 receiver.

This has been the case for as long as I can remember and while DJ Moore had a solid campaign with Justin Fields throwing him the ball, do the Bears really want to start over again?

Mind you, Caleb Williams and Mike Evans could do some damage in the high-scoring NFC North, but I do believe Evans will want to go to a team that can compete for a Super Bowl next season.

Kansas City Chiefs (+1,400)

Which brings me to the Kansas City Chiefs

Imagine a full season of Travis Kelce, Mike Evans, Rashee Rice, and Isiah Pacheco?

Patrick Mahomes would love to have a bonafide No. 1 receiver to (finally) replace Tyreek Hill — not that they missed him.

Could Evans perhaps take a pay cut to go help the Chiefs three-peat?

Mike Evan’s next team odds pick

Kansas City Chiefs (+1,400)

The Kansas City Chiefs will be good again next year. This is a cold-hard fact.

How good will they be, depends on how good the defense is, and how they can improve a receiving corps that was the weak link of the team.

Adding Mike Evans will bring immediate production, give Kelce some regular-season rest, and scare the hell out of the rest of the NFL.
