Montevallo women’s basketball ranked in NCAA Division 2 South Region poll

MONTEVALLO, Ala. (WBRC) – After impressive play on the court that has led to a 3-1 start to the season, the Montevallo Falcons women’s basketball team is ranked in the NCAA D2 CSC South Region poll for the first time in over two years!

The Falcons are coming off of big wins on the road against conference foes UAH and West Alabama, and also won their only home game of the year so far over Birmingham-Southern.

“I am proud of the start that we’ve had to the season. Our team has shown toughness and resiliency as we have faced good regional opponents early,” stated Montevallo women’s head coach Olivia Chapman. “As we get deeper into the GSC (Gulf South Conference) schedule, I look forward to seeing our team’s growth as we face a tough conference schedule. Thank you to the voters who have recognized our team’s success and hard work on the court.”

The Falcons will be back in action at Trustmark Arena in Montevallo Dec. 1 taking on the Shorter University Hawks. You can find their full schedule here.
