Oxford United kit becomes club’s best-ever-selling shirts

The club have revealed that kits have been outselling any previous kits in past years with over 1,000 more sold than at the same stage of last season.

The shirt has a dash of the 1980s to it, owing to the pinstripes, with its official launch campaign set to feature players from the club’s women and academy teams.

The away shirt is a nod to the promotion seasons of 1995/96 and 2015/16 with classic red and black vertical stripes.

And the blue third strip is an acknowledgement of the River Thames that runs through the city.

The club’s founding year – 1893 – features on the back of the shirt.

The home strip, which was leaked before its reveal, continues to be manufactured by Macron and sponsored by Bangkok Glass.

United announced last summer that Bangkok Glass – also the club’s training ground sponsor – would adorn the front of replica shirts for two seasons.

A four-year deal with Macron was also announced last summer.

Due to the unprecedented demand, certain sizes and styles have already sold out.

At the beginning of the season adult shirts were priced at £50 with juniors at £38, with certain discounts now being offered on the away strip.
